Hey folks,

I would like to know more about SEO techniques on how can you get your webpages (single or categories, not your homepage) rank higher in Google? Do you need to back link other websites to these single pages?

all your comments are appreciated!

Primarily its two components...

1) Internal links on your site pointing to the page which you want to rank e.g. silos.
2) Quality backlinks pointing to the page you want to rank.

Emilio,

There are a bunch of factors that are involved in ranking pages in Google.

One of the most important things you need to do first is do some serious keyword research. There are a bunch of tools out there for this, but Google Keyword Planner is good place to start. The idea is to look for keywords with a lot of search volume, but low competition. Long tail (long search phrases) keywords are usually easier to rank and usually have less competition.

After you've done this, you need to be sure your on-page SEO factors are there in the page you want to rank. This means you'll need that same keyword/phrase sprinkled liberally though out your article. Make it sound natural, but make sure it's in there as much as possible. Use it in bold, use it in italics, use it underlined, use it in a link. Also, use it in your title tags, (H1, H2, H3), use a caption for an image with that keyword/phrase. Also, it's good if it's contained in the first sentence of your article and your last sentence. Just make sure it makes sense, it needs to sound natural, and the article should still flows well. The article should be at least 1500 words, the more the better.

Also, make sure your keyword is in your permalink URL for that page.

After your page is SEO ready, you can worry about backlinks.

You can build your own backlinks with software out there, but honestly, just to save the time and frustration, I usually just pay someone to do it for me.

Don't get discouraged if you don't see your page ranking right away, it takes time for things to rank. You might even appear on page 2 or 3, but at least you're there. Practice makes perfect, so keep at it.

Hope that helps.
