How to write SEO friendly blog post title for better rankings?

I'm new to SEO field and I am reading forum posts here to help me improve SEO knowledge but I would like to have a question about SEO for blog post title
I should add keywords in the beginning of the title or making a catchy, engaging or simple as possible.
Please let me know your thoughts on this, I would appreciate any helpful tips!

Yes, it is good practice and in most cases it helps in CTR. During choosing blog post title, i keep few things in my mind. I try to add emotional word and in some cases i add bracket to get attention. You can use "Coschedule heading analyzer" to find how potential your title is. They also have a pdf contains a large list of emotional words. It really helps me create killer title, and I believe it will work same for you.

I try it, but the most important thing I love about the list of Emotional word they provide for their subscriber, it doubled my CTR!

I agree with SEO above, why not do both? Cover both aspects if possible.

You should use both Keywords and make your title exciting. Try combining words and create something interesting.

Make Sure You Capitalize Your Titles

Some people post lower case titles and titles aren't supposed to be all lower case.

That's Title Lesson 101.

A great title contains all the main keywords that you are trying to target, synonyms of them and related keywords too.

A great way to come up with a title for your post is to use Google Auto Suggest.

Start typing the main keyword followed by another and keep going until you have a really long tail that gets some searches.

Example would be something like: Dog Training Tips put that in and you can see some auto suggestions for something else.

A long tail of it would be "dog training tips for labradors in new york"


That's one way I do it.

Here's a quick breakdown:
- include the keyword phrase
- limit yourself to the 70 char ceiling
- stick to the typical "blog" style title - that is, focus on easy-to-absorb, fragmented, "bullet point" style offerings... "5 ways to... 3 exciting things about... 4 tips you may not have noticed..."
- use the active voice. This is big and most people ignore it. You can either "consider reading more about this issue here," or "click here to read more" - up to you!

I agree, a lot of these methods will end up getting you the traffic and results that you desire. The objective is to get good rankings and get that traffic coming in.

I agree with other speakers, using your keywords and making your title a little bit emotional is the key.

SEO is very important let me take time to explain some basis to you.

1. Your post most offer value to the reader. Google and other search engines are becoming more intelligent which means crappy blog post won't see the light of the day as far as Google is concerned, so think less about the SEO while creating your content. Just create something great on the topic. Make it epic!

2. While creating an epic post, you would of course write exhaustively on your chosen topic. What this means is that you would be targeting 1000 words + (The days of 500words blog post is gone).

3. Use SEO plugins. It solve most problems. My preferred plugin is Yoast SEO on Wordpress. It helps you to fix your title, and also tells you some basic SEO things that needs to be fixed on your article before you post them.

4. Conduct a proper keyword research before writing any article. It would be a shame to have a valuable blog post that no one is searching for.

5. Use LSI. LSI are keywords similar to you keyword in a way. They're highlighted on Google search as well.

6. Long Tail keyword is the way to go; less competition and average search volume.

7. SEO takes time (Keep that in mind, so don't get frustrated when you're not seeing instant result). It takes two or three months.

8. Let the keyword comes first in your post title: Take for instance you're writing about "Cat grooming tips" as your keyword, you title should be something like Cat Grooming Tip: What You Should Know
