Have you used a Visual Page Builder to structure your Wordpress pages?

I am looking to change my wordpress pages and some parts of my website. The best way for me to get custom pages is use a visual page builder such as Visual Composer or change codes by yourself.

I have checked every major page builder on the theme market, however I am curious as to whether others here have used them to develop Wordpress pages.

If so, did your pages still load as quickly? I found that it used more libraries such as a bunch of JavaScript and CSS files.

What is your experience on building a wordpress page base on your ideas?

I use to be into Visual Composer. Probably because it was so "cool". It does make it easy to build just about anything you want. Drag and drop easy.

But...

It does seem to slow down admin/pages. Plus that plugin has a ton of files. Not to mention, that you probably also get into the add-ons, which adds even more files and more drained resources.

While I thought it was cool, I came to realize it was a waste for me. For me, how often will I be changing my pages? Once I get them where I want, I probably would not change them. But when you make pages with VC, you have to keep the plugin for the pages to work because it uses short code. You are dependent on the plugin if you start using it to build.

So I dumped VC some time back.

I would rather edit the CSS to get what I want. Only other thing I use is a shortcode plugin that gives me text styles and layout options.

I think VC could be good if you had a site or wanted a site where the pages will have quite different layouts. Maybe like a magazine type site.

Course just my opinion.

I would much rather have something that builds theme's, you export and done. No more need for the builder.
