HTTP versus HTTPS has nothing to do with PageRank. PageRank is all about incoming links to a page. It has nothing to do with content or anything else happening on the page itself.

All the tests I have seen have had zero boost in rankings when changing from http to https.

Unless you need the SSL for secure transactions of some kind, it's a waste of money.

SSl is like $1 with my webhost, worth it if you ask me, especially since Google's algo is always changing. It is actually good people don't think SSL makes a difference, all the better for me!

hello all

Its been a positive impact on google rank with https: yes very light but we have experienced the change in the rank with https: Its too early to comment whether it will impact or not:

[URLnf="https://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal.html"]This[/URLnf] is the announcement google made.

We are pretty sure that the boosting in rank with https will be given more importance by the end of 2016: The more secure the websites are, the more healthy the customer vendor relations !!

And yes the cost of SSL is worth every penny to my website atleast!!
