Need help regarding SEO

Hello friends,

Hope you all are doing great. I am in a big dilemma and need your help. Actually I had joined a web 2.0 site few years back (The site url is Apsense.com). The site is usually known as business network. The admin of the site is very helpful. But in Year 2012 the site get hit by Google Penalty and their Pagerank has been dropped from 5 to 0. This happens due to some spamming within the site by few users and admin cannot be able to handle it. Now the site is fully loaded with crap and adult content. However the site still have good MOZ metrics.

So, I just wanted to know that it is useful to promote my site on that site? Do I get any SEO benefits from it? I haven't use this site since it get hit by Google penalty and quite aware to use it. Any help will be highly helpful.

Update:- I have check the site with your above tool and its looks ok and doesn't show any negative result. Should I have to follow this.

Meh... those sandbox checkers are pretty unreliable.

Also, deciding on whether to get a backlink based on Moz metrics may not be the best plan. Sure, consider them I guess, but if you think the backlink is going to potentially bring you traffic or help increase the brand awareness of your site, then get it, regardless of the moz metrics.

Although the PixelGrove checker is one of the better checker, don't trust it or any other checkers like that. They are VERY unreliable.

I buy and sell domains a lot and have used these just for the heck of it and about half the time they say a domain is banned, it isn't and the same goes for the other way around.

As far as the site you were talking about, if it's filled with adult and other junk then you might want to avoid it to be safe. Unless your site is a similar type of site, that is...

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, You are right, the site is full with crap and adult content like Escort services. Thats why I am ignoring it from last couple of years.

Yes, you must avoid getting backlinks from adults/illegals websites, because most of these websites are against Google TOS and they use some black hat seo methods. I recommand you to build manually your backlinks and check metrics of the domain on which you want to create your backlink.

In my opinion you should avoid submit any content to get backlinks, it is also harmful for your site.

Getting back links from a penalized site is not a good idea I think there are plenty of other methods available for back linking. It will be highly risky technique using penalized website for building back links. It is highly recommended that always use quality and trustworthy sources for back links.
