I don't know why but I just feel like free traffic is very hard to get, since Facebook and other social networks are becoming very hard and not easy like before, they easily detect any unmanual actions and you can get banned if you do it over.

Do you think that free traffic still works?

And what about paid traffic?

Well, my friend, all traffic works.

Some forms of traffic are higher quality than others, but it all works.

I agree with you though, some of the more popular forms of free traffic have definitely been more difficult to get, but you also have to consider that as new technology rolls out you have other opportunities as well.

Maybe Facebook fan pages aren't worth it anymore, but FB groups might be. Maybe Twitter is more news or current event focused but maybe Periscope could help you build your brand better. Many article directories are useless now, but maybe Flipboard could drive traffic for you.

There's always possibilities... If you're looking for easy, this may not be the right industry for you. There will always be challenges.

Yes it still works. SEO does it in it's best way. However paid traffic is easier.

Of course free traffic still works, you just have to be more creative in recent times than in the past. Try to find new traffic resources outside the norm.

Paid traffic can be good, but it's paid so it's got to be worth the investment. If it is then go for it!

I believe free traffic still works. I use freeadboards, text ad exchanges, some safelists and viral marketing sites. I also participate in blogging communities and do some blog commenting. You just have to be consistent. Consistency is key.

With all the above you should add leveraging.

The best SEO practices include some form of leveraging traffic - shares, follows, likes, etc.
Just focusing on free traffic by yourself can kill a good effort and turn it into a big loss (time, exhaustion, etc.).

Paid traffic is the best traffic in the sense that you get immediate traffic which is targeted (if you optimize correctly).
If you do not know how to optimize, it will cause you to lose money.

So the best way is to learn how to leverage free traffic creatively so that you can realize (over time) consistent targeted traffic
from organic shares and natural linking. If you are an avid marketer, you should be able to create this synergy through various offers
and email lists you can build on your own.

If not, you need to look into leveraging free traffic towards increased targeted traffic and this includes optimizing your site for SEO and leveraging at the same time.
