Can spambot attack decrease google rankings?

My site is being hit multiple times per day with spam referral traffic with 100% bounce rate and 0 seconds spent on site. Can this negatively affect my google rankings?

I personal did not experience any decrease in Search engine rankings, however I am also receiving some of the spam traffic. You can get rid of it by blocking them from .htaccess or from robots.txt file. If you are using WordPress than you might find some plugin which can block spam traffic to your website. You can also filter spam traffic in your Google analytics account.

Bounce rate and time on site are not ranking factors.

These spam bots don't even go to your site, it's Google Analytics referral spam. Blocking them via htaccess won't do anything for you since they never go to the site.

Can't you block them? Maybe block IP's. I block IP's every day. Just to keep them off your site, nothing to do with bounce rate or anything.
