Backlinks to your website from various forums, blogs, comments relate to your niches are still good for SEO. People visit your website using these backlinks, and stay on the website if they like it or find it useful. What about backlinks from directories? Why do people still use directory submission in SEO?

Directory submission is a tradition techniques to link building. Links to your website from various forums/directories /blogs / comments (only related to your website niche) are still good for SEO. Also, It’s a hope that we may get good backlinks but not all directory submissions are good most of them use no follow links.

Directory submission is still helpful in getting higher rankings. You should identify your niche market and submit your sites into local directories. Obviously, it's an old technique, but you can still get the perks out of it.

Directory submission, following many ideas, now are decreasing its great effects on SEO and site rankings. However, you should see that all good directories are like your yellow pages including all info you want, so Google sees it great also. Besides, it works like a listing of all sites, not spamming sources. The stricter site is, the better you will get from that.

I will keep this advice and finding some good directories for my site.
Are there any directories as good as dmoz. Do Google and Bing offer have their own directories and are they offering?
