Convert profile to Facebook fan page?

Hello, I have a Facebook account with 5000 friends and also own a fan page and my question is: Can I convert profile into a Facebook fan page and then already on fan page merge with Facebook page already created? does it work? and do I have any advantages of converting a FB profile to Facebook fan page?

Facebook is against to use your personal account to represent your business page or something. Yes, you have many advantage of it like you have already many likes, business promotion, ads etc. Although it may be risky, as if Facebook suspects anything wrong, your all data will be lost.
