Directory submissions don't show in Google Webmaster Tools

It takes a while for links to feature in the Webmaster tools. This doesn't mean though that Google isnt aware of the links. I have links that were created years ago only just appearing on webmaster tools.

If you want a better idea of what back links you have, its better to use a service like open site explorer

So according to your opinion opensiteexplorer reads every backlinks very fast? I haven't tried it yet, using Ahrefs.com to analyze my site's backlinks. Ahrefs collects links very quickly, I have seen that.
