I'm starting a new social media account for a brand I'm making, and I was wondering how useful it is to buy Twitter followers, or maybe even Facebook likes. It might be an expense I could save just doing a great advertising campaign but I'm not really sure, has anyone had experience buying followers? how has it affected your webside/brand? Thanks

Not worth it. Most will be bots or fake accounts. Followers that are not targeted are a total waist of time.

You could have 1,000,000 followers that will never make you a red cent. You could make bank from just a few hundred targeted followers.

I agree with Rob. It's more of establishing and building up your client's trust in your brand. It may seem a bit suspicious if your account's followers are filled with bots instead of real people. Buying followers could actually backfire.

I agree with Rob, it's not worth buying followers or likes. It can actually harm your page on Facebook.

If you buy lots of likes and fans, and then you post something and get no engagement (which you won't with bought fans), Facebook will reduce the amount of times it shows your post organically.

It is far better to have even 10 targeted fans who will engage with your posts and give you likes.

Do not buy followers, they're bots which are going to get deleted by Twitter sooner or later, there won't be any interactive acts between them and you, just a plain number on your Twitter which will look fake and people will find out!

Getting the notoriety state can be difficult, just work extremely hard for it, tread the path you made and you'll get actual followers exponentially.

There have 2 system about your marketing question. Answer one is: you can buy hashtag based social media marketing. It will really increase your business. Second one: You can buy social media marketing signal but those will be must application programming interface based system. Like you can buy real social signal from social media marketing website.

Thanks

Thanks to all for your answers! I'll definitely look for another way to gain active followers. What I was thinking at first was that for example if someone opens the twitter account and sees lots of followers, they might think of liking or following the page more than if they don't see any! But I guess I'll have to earn them the hard way.

Cheers!

I'm doubtful anybody is going to be turned away upon seeing a low follower count, especially if they understand that your business is in it's infancy. Buying followers should never be a solution, because it isn't. Building your account from the ground up isn't just going to be more rewarding in the long term, but it shows your legitimate followers that you won't risk undertaking blackhat tactics in order to get a step up.

I'm glad you're still going to put the work in. I see too many posts from people on here, or elsewhere, where people are all too keen to take the easy way out. The whole point of internet marketing is that there are no simple answers, otherwise people like us wouldn't specialise in the field and we'd have any old muffins trying to promote their thing. Not that there isn't a growing selection of those who think that throwing money at the wall is going to bring in conversions.

I only buy my followers on the initial start-up, but after that I try to go after big influencers and follow their followers and interact with the influencer in hope of getting a strong, targeted following.

No, NEVER buy followers. Your social media universe weight will be based on real followers. Brands will sponsor you and offer you money to tweet their products and advertise for them based on how many REAL followers you have. Why buy followers when everything you tweet you're looking for retweets and likes? Fake followers or bots aren't going to retweet or like your stuff. Your best bet is twitter advertising which will help you gain followers. Also following certain people, and retweeting their stuff works as well.

I would say it is not worthy, more likely, those accounts are fake. Well, you'll have tons of likes and that would attract potential clients/customers, but it will definitely would take time. Better invest into good advertisements, focused on your product's features and benefits. Of course, customers would but your product based on its quality and function not based on how many fake followers you have. Eventually, attracted customers and loyal customers would stick around and follow your account. Best of luck to your business!
