Online payment delays

I am just wondering why do some sites takes too long in processing payments online. Some takes more than a month or so. I am thinking almost everything now is automated, what processes causes delays for a supposed automatic payments?

Many are watching for fraud. Since there is so much fraud on the Internet, you hold payments longer to help catch more of it.

Hey, if it's indicated in the site guidelines
that payment / Withdrawal will take a
Month or longer then it's a Scam Site,
unless they have a cutoff or they payout
via checks, which normally takes that
long.

In cases of no payout cutoffs indicated
in the sites payment guidelines, and your requesting for a bank or PayPal/Payza
transfer which normally takes a few
minutes or 24 hours max, and the site
tells you that it will take a month, then
they're scamming you for sure.

The long wait times of because of scams indeed. Usually, within a few weeks, it will become apparent if a payment is fraudulent or not.
That being said you should only use mainstream payment processors/providers.
There are many fake payment processors out there that say they will bear the risk of fraudulent payments, but in reality, there is nothing stopping them from vanishing with your money.

Usually, money comes within 3 working days. But when I'd asked for a chargeback once, I got my money back in 3 months).
