PHPBB or MyBB

Personally for free forums I prefer using MyBB because it's more modern and has better features than PHPBB. PhpBB is a decent software but in my opinion harder to master, and it's not good with older plugins. If you don't want to spend money on a paid software my recommendation is use MyBB because it offer more plugins, more themes and better support. When I ran a forum for a brief time I used MyBB and fell in love with it's features, it's basically a free version of vBulletin.
