I think, that Amazon simply best fits Google algorithms. Amazon has a boatload of links, content, and tons of traffic. So thanks to the love and trust of users of Amazon, it ranks well on Google.

Because Amazon has huge traffic, such a website doesn't need quality backlinks.

It has nothing to do with traffic. They have an enormous amount of links. Good quality ones.

That business was built on the back of affiliates.

Nothing interesting there at all.

And who the hell checks PageRank anymore? Lol.

Google has not updated the public PR data in six years.

I have seen a few instances where other websites have ranked about Amazon. It is an anomaly though, outranking Amazon is pretty hard.

It makes sense when you think about it. Gazillions of websites link to them. They are one of the biggest companies in the history of humanity, they probably know what they're doing..

Because Amazon is an authority website. Also, it has dozen of quality backlinks from high authority websites. That is why it is difficult to beat Amazon.
