Can you get rid of the Blogspot bar along the top? I always find those cheapen the look of a site.

Yes, it is possible to remove the Blogspot bar on the top. However, the "search function" is useful and it can be used successfully to search the site. There is also "more" --> Share by Email, Facebook, Twitter (maybe that is useful to some people). You can also "sign in" to your Google account to post comments on the site.
