Can 3 do-follow backinks in a guest post of 500 words hurt my SEO?

I am a little confused writing a guest post of 500 to 600 words with 3 do-follow backlinks to my website(same domain). Can this have any negative effect on my SEO? Someone should clarify it for me. Thanks.

Your can create more dofollow links in your article if wanted, keep in mind that it should be natural for readers and search engines. Don't do keyword stuff in your article.

I think the website owner (guest post website) won't allow you to do that. Then there is no problem at all.
But if he is allowing, or you are posting the article where there is no one to check or review your article, or you are posting in "instant approval websites"; try to be natural with backlinks. I don't find any issues in adding 2-3 backlinks.

Guest posts can indeed hurt your site if:
Duplicate content-The post has been published on another site first, even if it's by the same author.
The post is filled with follow links to spam sites, those links can count against you.
The writing is of low quality, it can reflect poorly on your site.
But If you will avoid all of these things then your answer will be turned into a big "NO".
