Reseller hosting in subdomain

Hi,

I have a web design related static homepage and I was thinking of starting reseller web hosting using the subdomain of that website. For example, web host.sitename.com. Is there any technical problem with it? Also, I was thinking of hostgator to start my reseller business, as I am already a customer of their shared web hosting. Are there any better alternative?
