Does Google count Image backlinks ?

I have got banners exchange with other websites and some I bought banners from high Pr blog but I don't know exactly Google will count backlinks from my banners on other websites or blogs. anyone can answer to me

I agree with Alex. Graphic and images are plus point in blogs and articles and backlinking them is a good idea.
