Spider and Crawlers ?

Can any one tell me the Difference between Spider and Crawlers ?

Spider is a program that search engins used to download web pages.

Crawler is a program that automatically follows all your links on every webpages on your site.

And if you want to know about Robots then It is a program that automatically visit websites & perform predefined task like crawling task. It combines the tasks of crawler & spider together and help indexing and ranking of websites on search engines.

Spider and Crawler is Same, name only different. it is used to crawls websites' links, images and content

All these terms mean the same thing. They're all one and the same thing.

Spider is the program which is responsible for searching, downloading and store your site in search engine data base.
Crawler is the program that follows the content on your site, each time you edit, add new content or links etc, the crawler notify google about the changes for the ranking or other way round.

According to me Spider is bot which help to fetch only those page which are having specific keyword on the page ,and crawler is same like spider ,the only difference is that it crawling all the page with any primary condition to search a single word ,url or group of keyword page too...
