Hi everyone,

I want ask if anyone face this before.

I launch small website around 3 weeks ago. All pages already indexed in Google Search Console and no crawl errors. But still impressions almost zero.

Content is original, website speed is good and sitemap also submitted. I don't build many backlinks yet because I want first Google understand my website.

How long usually take before Google start showing impressions? Is this normal now or maybe I missing something important?

What you do in first month for new website? More content, internal links or start link building?

I like hear real experience, not only theory.

Thanks.

Impression meaning = user saw your website in the SERP, and by having your website in the SERP, in order to get impressions, you need content or a well-built website that tells Google about the website, product, or services that you are providing.

And your second question of what to do in the first month is (this is my opinion). - Content for a new website before link building

Small correction that matters for his case. An impression fires when the result is loaded in the results page, not when someone actually looks at it. So a page sitting around position 60 shows zero impressions, not because nobody read it, but because almost nobody clicks through that many pages of results in the first place. Near zero impressions on an indexed site usually points at ranking too deep rather than a content problem on its own.

Agree on content before links though. On a three week old site there is nothing for a backlink to prop up yet.

Three weeks with almost no impressions on a new site is normal, especially if the pages target anything competitive. Indexed only means Google stored the page. An impression needs the page to actually surface for a query someone typed, and on a fresh domain that tends to be very long tail stuff first.

Quick check before you change anything: search the exact title of one of your pages in quotes and see if it comes up. If it does, you are ranking already, just too deep for anyone to reach. If it does not come up at all, that is a different problem and worth digging into. What are you aiming at, head terms or longer question style queries?
