Target keyword depends on web pages in the website. I think you must prepare the keyword according your site services and functionality but generally 3 keywords per page best option.

Hey Plcindia,

More specifically you should target one keyword and its variants for every page of your site. Even though that is true, there are pages that you really cant optimize for target keywords depending on your business. For instance your privacy policy, your about us page, your contact us page are all places that can be difficult to optimize. Other than that, you should optimize each page for a keyword phrase. The number of pages that you can realistically optimize for target keywords is the number of keywords you can target.

Note that by adding a blog to your site, you can target substantially more keywords than you otherwise could.

Hope that helps,

Regards,
Pryidev

More particularly you need to target its own versions and one keyword for each page of your website. Despite the fact that that's accurate, there are pages which you actually can't optimize for target keywords depending upon your company. Apart from that, you must optimize each page for a phrase. The amount of pages you could practically optimize for target keywords will be the variety of keywords you'll be able to target.

Its up to the site content and on you that how many keywords you want to target for your site.
Anyways, i think 3-5 keywords are sufficient to be targeted for a web page.

I think it depends on the requirement of your page, but it should not overloaded so that it looks over optimized in other words it should not look like that there is a keyword stuffing in the content which may lead to dropping in your website rank.

Each page can have its own keyword(s), so if you have 100's of pages you can guess how many keywords.

I think you must prepare the keyword according to your site's services and functionality it can be so many in numbers but when it is about a single web page then bulk of keywords in a single page should be avoided.
