no, it does not work at all and my advice is to stay away from any suspicious traffic exchange plan. Google has good sense to smell any fishy traffic and it cannot be beneficial. Sometime google does not approve adsense for website taking part in traffic exchange program.

I don't agree with your idea, traffic from forum is worth for increase sales because it targeted to niche we want, I got more sales by promoting on other forums in same field with my products. Of course, the best is traffic from search engines and social media traffic is not bad for your site. It's a must for you.

traffic from social and forums is easy and effective but for stable traffic, you need to focus on SEO, it will bring real traffic to you without spend more time and efforts. Just for the beginning time.

According to me social media is good if you want free traffic, it helps to give the most engaged traffic. Forum, blog, etc are also good for giving your visitors, but if you want more than it is better to pay for this.
