Are Directory Links Still Worth in 2015?

I think that whether or not having links from a directory to your site all depends on the directory itself. There are tons of junk directories out there that have no kind of moderation, staff review or so on as to what is listed in there directory. There are way more junk directories than good ones.

Having links/listings in good quality directories is fine. The trick is knowing which are good and which are not.

I don't understand why directories get a bad reputation for being "black hat", they were a major par of the internet organizing information for a long time.
