I have heard more times guys here that the money is in your list. I have been a social network marketer for years and never felt the need to build an email list from subscribers. Does mostly your sales come from your list or other traffic sources?
Pls share your experience!

Put it this way - 1%-5% on average convert on a sales page. Having a list gives you the ability to follow up and expose your offer 7 times or more which in-turn increases your percentage of a sales. All the top marketers and anybody having long-term success online are always focusing on building their list.

Yes I have made money on numerous projects without ever building a list. There are some situations where it makes no sense to build a list at all. It depends on the situation.

List building became popular when word got out that "if you have a list" then you can make multiple offers (highly targeted offers) to the same people over and over again.

With most online business models you make one or more offers to one audience one time. Then you may never see that person again regardless of whether he bought or not.

With list building you can make numerous offers to the same person again and again over time. And you can customize which offer you send him based on whether he has bought something previously. This gives you a chance to make a lot more sales per person. And it allows you to convert a higher percentage of people into buyers.

But if your business model doesn't seem like it makes sense to build a list, then don't. Just because some people like to build lists and market via email does not mean you have to do the same thing. Do whatever feels right to you.

I visit your sales page and then left it with or without getting into the offer. Suppose If I'd be in your list and at the right time of my happy moments I'd receive an email from your side with an amazing offer? Obviously I'd want to avail your offer. The most important thing is to build relation with your subscribers list. So, they'll always trust you whatever you send them.

Short answer, Yes.

If you have a large list that knows, likes and trusts you, they will be your most valuable traffic source.

Most people do need multiple exposures to an offer before they buy. That's one important reason to have a list. But even more so, you're literally building your own personal traffic source. One that you control. That's powerful.

Emails are more personal too, so I feel like it's a more effective way of building a relationship with people. I'm sure if you have experience with Social Media, you understand the importance of that.

Hope that helps.

Yes I regularly make money without an email list.

I used to build lists, but now I don't actually bother. Part of this reason is I tend to focus now on membership sites, so the list is kind of built into it.

On top of that, I now heavily focus on social media engagement using a mix of personally run account, and accounts run through software, allowing me to engage with people who follow me on social media, in effect I'm building a list through social media rather than email.

The test for the need of email marketing shouldn't be viewed from a dollar per dollar basis - even though an email list beats all other forms of marketing on many parameters. An email list is a separate asset that when all else fails, can and will sustain and rebuild your business.

No one needs an email list strategy to make money online - there are many ways to make money online. But your email list is "safe" from many perils like hackers and other threats to your business. A well targeted set of email lists can easily rebuild your business and income in the event that your other methods should become offline due to any unforeseen circumstances. Thus, I believe that doing any business on or offline while neglecting building an email list is foolish.

It is true that social media brought a bit different communication and different solutions, so many of us use social media pages to drive traffic to the website and make more sales. It is actually more convenient, because you don't ask for an email address, but you still have a pretty good exposure. If you target your audience and pay for a Facebook ad, then even better.

I've made small money without list, SEO and commenting for affiliate CPA campaign, but from what I hear here a list is very good option.
