How does web based money making strategies like affiliate marketing work on mobile?

Till now I see only "Ads" as the key money making ability in the mobile space.
Is there a way to make money in mobile like how its done in the web? Affiliate marketing, content promotion.etc

You can still have affiliate links, product promotions, list building, etc on mobile sites. You just have to carefully design your layout and make sure your site is mobile responsive. This way you maintain a quality user experience, and sill have the content that is going to make you money.

By mobile I meant the app market in Google Play & Apple App Store.

Everything is CONTENT. I don't see why there is anything else to be considered. If you don't buy advertising, then you MUST provide content.

All I know is that some of my traffic comes from mobile, and that there are plugins that you can install on your site (using Wordpress) to make sure that your site is "mobile ready." I use WP Touch on my blogs.
