Google has declared guest blogging dead in SEO but according to my opinion, its a huge source of traffic so we can't stop it for promoting our sites totally. I would like to know if Google will count it as spam or not? And what is best ways to do guest blogging after Google's declaration of not considering guest blogging as a part of SEO's value?

Guest blogging still works for SEO. Google is just trying to discourage you from doing spammy guest blogging.

You should be pickier now about where you will publish guest blog posts compared to a few years ago. Make sure the site is a higher quality site that is well moderated for spam. The site should have higher standards of content quality. Higher quality sites like that are likely to remain good sources of links for your website for many years to come.

Like Ted said, quality is everything.

The same goes for forum posts, directory submissions, backlinks on sites, etc.

If it is coming from a high quality site, it will help you.
If it is coming from a low quality site, that anyone and everyone can and is posting their link on, it will have no benefit, or even you.

I would recommend actually taking a look at what Google said and stop reading the blog of whatever idiot "guru" you heard that from.

They never said that guest blogging was dead. They targeted link exchange networks like the one Ann Smarty was running. There's a difference.

:rolleyes2: Want to try this someday.
Thank you. Appreciate it!

I often search on forums and looking into where they are offers guest posts and contact to website owners. Its an effective way I am using now.

If you guest blog on a bunch of spammy looking websites, Google is going to assume you are attempting to manipulate the system and will penalize you. Instead, focus on getting guest posts uploaded to high-quality authoritative websites. Plus, authority websites are going to offer a bunch more traffic anyway.

Guest posting is not dead yet and Google doesn't hate Guest posting until its look like spamming and only for creating backlinks.

Having spent most of the last five years writing guest blogs, here is what I can say:
Guest blogs add value to your blog. For example: My current blog is about Public Transport. I have two guest posts coming up. One is about Modernisation of the Transport sector, and the other is a comparison of different cities. One is being written by a Transport Researcher and the other by a Journalist with a leading newspaper. I am including a link to both their websites along with a short bio at the end of the post. To me, this is great, as people looking for these two authors might land up on my blog thru search results. To the Guest, they are getting a free backlink to their post. This isn't a spammy link either. The converse also applies as my post on somebody else' blog is value addition for them as well as a free link for me.

At the end of the day, Search Engines love fresh content. This is exactly what I'm doing. :)

Bloggers needs good content. Being a good guest blogger and adding value to someone else’s blog, you are going to build relationships with other bloggers. The finest part of guest posting is that, it allows to enter a community and sharing your message. It allows to connecting with new peoples.
