Unless you are with a very small, poor quality host, I doubt they are injecting code into your site in order to upsale you on security software. But I guess it could happen.

WordPress website are the worst for having exploits and getting infected. That is the downfall to using the most popular CMS. Billions of people use WordPress, so it makes for a very good target for hackers. Just look through your spam email folder. Most of the bogus links you get a to infected WordPress sites.

There are companies that offer "WordPress hosting", but 99% of then are purly marketing hype. There are a few that will actually make sure your website stays up to date with the latest updates and security fixed.

My suggestion, host your site with a quality hosting company. Then hire a freelance WordPress developer to handle your updates for you when needed.

We are Facing so much Security Issues with hosting companies. Every time they are only injecting malicious code in to website and sending security notices to use site lock software which is very expensive.
Unfortunately this sounds like you have your site hosted with an EIG owned hosting company. This is a very common scam that they try to pull, they tried it with me on multiple occasions. I had a couple of hosting accounts with 2 of their companies (just for odds and ends sites I wasn't too worried about, not my good sites) and they tried this scam multiple times. Dealing with their staff and lower (on-the-phone) management was a huge PAIN! After doing some research after they tried pulling this on me I had found that it's all too common.

This might not be an EIG hosting company, but if it is, move your site/s unless you have a stress craving!

To be completely and absolutely honest, 99.999% of the security measures needed to ensure that your wordpress installation is safe are usually the responsibility of you, the customer, who actually maintains the wordpress installation. Keep in mind that server security is a big deal, and we work every single day to ensure that our customers are safe in the sense that the main control accounts of the system(s) aren't vulnerable, however, that in turn has no impact on how secure your wordpress installation is on its own.

Be careful what Plugins you install, also be sure to take necessary security measures such as hiding vulnerable directories including the "wp-admin" folder... Don't use "free" or "nulled" templates as they usually have malware placed within... Be sure to ALWAYS update your WordPress the instant that an update comes available, that's probably the most important step to consider.

Sure, some updates are mainly to upgrade the functionality of the theme or plug-in, but many address security flaws, so in that time frame that you haven't updated these is when you're especially vulnerable to attacks. Better to be proactive than reactive.

In my experience siteground is the best

It's just for people who loves wordpress.

Since I began using SiteGround for a new project a few months back, I've been blown away by their technical chops and their stellar customer service.

Itried some cheap hosts like ipage,powweb,1and1. They justloot my money but no use.

Simply put your wordpress site at SiteGround. It is doing it right when so many are dropping the ball.

Great support as well.

In my opinion, if you keep your Wordpress and plugins updated, and not use pirated plugins or themes, then most hosting should be secure enough for normal use.
