VPS Hosting

Hello,

My site is hosted on a VPS provided by InMotion Hosting. I've not had any problems with these guys before and everything has been perfect. What I'm wondering is if there is anything I need to know? Because I've always used Shared Hosting and I'm not sure if there are any settings or something that I should modify or take a look at? It is a managed VPS so I don't have to do everything myself.

In the VPS plan I have WHM is included as well but if it optimal to resell hosting through your own VPS if you only have for example 2-3GB of BW?

There is a lot that goes into having a good running (optimized/stable/secure/etc) VPS. Are you having any problem? Do you have any specific concerns? If not, I believe you fall under that category "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

2-3GB of bandwidth is not a lot. Many websites will use more bandwidth then this. I would not try to sell hosting on your VPS unless you have a lot more resources available.

Possibly. Can you tell us more about your setup.

OS, web server (Apache, Nginx, Litespeed, etc), database server (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc)
Any other software your running? (Memcached, varnish, Railgun, etc)

Knowing for sure what could make your VPS run better would also require looking at your current resource usage.
i.e. if your maxing out your available RAM, not only would adding better caching not help, it could actually hinder your performance and stability. Asking your hosting provider (or someone else) to thoroughly review your server would probably give you the best results.

As to your first question regarding my setup:

CentOS 6, Enterprise Class Linux, Apache 2, MySQL, 4GB ram, SSD, RAID 6 Fault Tolerant Disk Space, not running any other software.
I just recently switched to the VPS so I have no accurate resource usage yet. However when I was on the shared one, two addons on my XenForo were peaking my CPU usage to 160%, which is why I switched to a VPS.

and I'm sorry, I have 2TB BW not 2GB, lol.

2-3GB of RAM is definitely enough to sell some cPanel accounts, when you cannot fit to it anymore, just upgrade your plan, VPS is really flexible in terms of resources.

What things on your VPS do you want to optimize? increase RAM, improve loading speed or web control panel?

Mainly the load speed, if there are ways to through the cPanel increase load speed of the website.

There is backend and frontend that can affect load speeds. The frontend is your website, scripts, software, etc that can impact load speeds so make sure it's optimized as best as possible. Check out gtmetrix.com to analyze it. Then the backend is the server/network infrastructure which refers to the server hardware, and the network that can affect website speeds. If you feel your site is fully optimized and it's still slow perhaps it's due to the server and the location of the server. Just some points to consider.

I don't want to add too much to my .htaccess because last time I did that it slowed down my site rather than speed it up (browser caching etc)

Yes, managed VPS comes with a control panel. You can always ask your hosting provider to optimize the services like apache, mysql to increase your server performance.

Also you server spec's looks fine to sell cpanel hosting accounts.

Main benefit of VPS hosting is you can always upgrade your resources by paying for extra cost. So, if you need more space or more bandwidth you have you just contact to your VPS provider and ask them to add specific amount of resources in your server and pay for them.

VPS is good but how to get cheap license for cpanel. as you know we have to buy VPS but software hold big pricing which may not be affordable for small business owners

2 Gb Bandwidth is peanuts. If you trying to be a reseller, trust me, you wont sustain with your clients for long. They will get frustrated and leave.
