I have already got a domain to start a new website. I was planning to develop one like ehow or quora but I have been thinking deep about it. I am getting confused because I have been reading a few articles that multi niche website is not more profitable as single niche website. Please share honest thoughts, which is better? why?

Yes thats right, it is better to build one authority website then building different small niches, one of the main benefit of one site is that your total focus will be on one site. The other benefit of authority site is that you will easily get top rankings in search engines because search engines love authority sites, but the site's content quality also matters.

Do you have the skills and knowledge to build a site into an authority site? Not trying to be negative. Just saying, you could be wasting your time and maybe money trying to build it. Depending on the niche, it could be a very lofty goal.

Where as, any one can build small niche sites and usually find more success because there is often lower competition. And they can often be ranked easier.

Plus small niche sites are even more focused than an authority site.

Actually, I wrote a lengthy post about it here:

There is also the thought, multiply sites can bring in multiple incomes. Can be a mistake to rely too much on one site.
