Hey all,

Just a quick question,

If you start following people on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin, does it have a positive impact on traffic, I mean the more followers I have the more traffic I get?

Basically if your social media account is associated to your website then chances are your followers will also be directed to your website since they will be able to get update about your website. It actually works, if possible try to leave a shorten link on every post that you will make.

Just having followers do not mean much of anything. Does NOT mean you'll get more traffic, not at all. Sure not like some others have said. Bad advice.

The more followers you have, who you build relationships with and interact with, then yes it can mean more traffic. It also depends (probably more so) the content you share on your social accounts. If it's your own content, the higher the quality and the better titles you use, the better "chance" you have of driving traffic.

The point is, it's not as easy to just follow people and the traffic will flow, it does NOT work like that.

Build a big following, interact with them, share quality content and then you have something :)

Well yeah, that's the whole point, start following people in your niche, getting followers in your niche, building up relationships on social media with people who share the same interests, passions as you do. Sharing, resharing, retweeting or liking their stuff etc and then people do the same for you in turn when they see you doing it on their stuff this is how it works.

Always posting and posting great content, using #hashtags and call to actions in your posts promotes more shares and traffic to those posts as they get seen/visited by people using those social media sites or from on search engines that are displaying a Facebook Page or Tweet that's been indexed in its search results.

What you have to realize though is that if you're only following people doing the same thing as you're already doing, they are probably your competitors and not going to turn into anything for you.

What you need to do is follow their followers as chances are most of these have followed them because they're interested in their product/service etc.

That applies for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin etc etc.

For Sure

The More followers you have the more traffic you Get. First you need to start your slf what social strategies should i follow to generate fans and followers on facebook and twitter.

Well the answer is simple. when you follow people some of them will follow you But when you post Great content, influencers will share it with their followers and you see engagement and lots of traffic.

The main focus should be about Delivering Good stuff to target audience.
noone follows you unless you have something in return. there are some easy tools online that help you to increase your followers. iam not talking about buying fans and followers but following only targeted people in your niche.

Actually it depends. If you are getting targeted follower than it will help you to get more traffic. To get better value, you have to interact with your followers.

In my experience, I can say this: most of the time, followers just be attracted by entertaining content. If you are building a blog which provides articles about a specific niche, or an e-commerce site etc, the traffic you get from Social network is so low.

It's more ideal to get followers then to follow, but you should follow to get your name out there.

On Pinterest, I would comment all the time on other people's pins. This help build my brand and it draws people into my personal pinterest page - where there is a link back to my website.

I'm not sure if you would consider friending someone on Facebook the same as following.

I have a person in Facebook that became my friend a couple months ago. They have 0 mutual friends. They haven't been my friend long. I haven't liked many of their posts. However, they like EVERYTHING I post and they show as my number 2 friend in the last at the top left of my Facebook friend. So by simply liking everything I post they have "hijacked" my 2nd spot as a friend even though I have never met them in my life.

So I would say following someone can definitely get you traffic if in the very least it is someone wondering who this friend is that shows up at the top of my results (or friends of mine wondering the same thing).

You missed which the OP is asking

Exactly this way works better than following more people in same niche but it also consume more time to do attractive images, great content. I don't think #hashtags are effective in increasing traffic to a website.

This method is always work as well on Twitter but not for Facebook.

This is total wrong, it doesn't help your site to have a little traffic when following entertaining content, it just helps for sites you followed.

Following people can increase traffic, but you'll need followers as well.

Once you have some followers tweet your content to them and you'll receive some traffic if they're interested.

I started using twitter for to promote webmasterbabble and my other new website and I've received traffic.

I've received 15,000 more visits so far since using twitter. I'm sure it'll increase once I get more followers overtime.

I've had a few of my tweets re tweeted by another twitter user with 12k followers.

That helped increase traffic.

I'm getting close to 1k followers.
