Do you do different strategies to implement on social media sites to promoting your brand name, business and company. Please list the appropriate steps to take in order to make a small company popular in the social media market effectively.

Is this an online only company or is it a brick and mortar business? The reason I am asking is that you would approach social media differently dependent if it is a business with a physical store front or if it is online only.

The first step is to get your customers to like your Facebook business page and to follow you on twitter. This way you can stay in communication with them easily.

When they are physically in your store, get their email address so you can send them a link to your FB and Twitter pages. Offer them discounts and specials that are only available to them if they liked your FB page or if they follow you on twitter.

Offer them something for free. But they can only access it from your FB page or twitter feed.

Also while doing this, build your email list. Then, when sales are down, you can email your customer list with a special to get them back in the door.

There are paid and free ways to promote your website on social media. If you want to promote your business for free then you would need to connect to as many people as possible and make many relationships as possible. This can be done by joining good and valuable groups or Master Minds. Or You can create a Fan Page about your business and provide to people. This way your are building relationships and getting people to know about your business.

2. Post engaging and informative articles about your business and share this to your friends. Make sure it is interesting enough so your friends would also be willing to share this to their friends as well.
3. Post interactive media (videos, images) that will showcase some of the product/service you have.
4. Join group discussion related to your business and be active as much as possible.
5. Follow influential individuals (related to your business, of course) and interact with them by liking, sharing his/her contents and sharing your business contents in return.

You should join such groups, forums or other networks and social media, which are relevant to your business.
If you are a web designer and you are advertising yourself in eBook or travelling groups, hen you won't get much attention of the audience.
On the contrary, if you join relevant groups and add relevant people, you'd be successful in getting people's attention.
One huge plus will be, that you'll remain updated all the time.
