I am not a programmer, so I apologize in advance if this question has an obvious answer! I think about little tools that I think would be interesting to have and often times I see something that looks similar on Github, but I don't understand how to, I guess, compile them to try? Does anyone have some experience with this that can maybe point me in the right direction in regards to this please...

It's going to depend on what language the project was written in. Some need to be compiled, some don't. It also depends on what operating system the program or script needs to run on. It also depends on what dependencies the program or script has.

See where I am going? There is no simple easy answer. If you can give an example of one you are interested in.... I or someone else may be able to give you a little guidance.

I feel difficult when browsing tools, software or scripts on Github and installing them on my hosting or for my sites. Seem there just for web developers or specialists.

There're often readme note where describe how to install the toool. So if you don't understand you can ask me in details with a specific tool. I will help if I can

A lot of scripts or programs on github the developers normally put some form of documentation up on how to install, a lot nowadays are developed with installation or setups so they are simple to install. if you do come across any that you find difficult to use you may get support from the people who contribute or maintain the program or script.

It can vary from project to project.
