Is Forum Posting an effective Off Page Technique, as signatures or links really work these days?

Forum links are very effective for SEO if you do right on quality and high traffic forums.
You need to choose forums that relate to your niches, links will work.
Other than that signature links can help drive traffic to your site.

Agreed but we must not forget that Formus are discussions platforms and we must not spam these with irrelevant links.

Let,s take the example of this forum site, I have a almost 15 posts, in all posts I write or you can say that I used my thread in legal way not promoting anything, even If i put a link, may be I am banned, so how to do forum posting, because good forum sites don,t think provide link or signature permission.

Why don't you think smartly like having link by asking reviews from others or promoting your services on these forums

yes , forum posting backlinks are very powerful to get higher ranking but make sure , the link should be do-follow . join high da , pa and topic related forum posting sites. reply to threads and do not add signature before replying the answers set by owner. please read rules of adding signature .

Nopes, forums are not good in building links for SEO since most of them are no-follow in nature, but as a prolific forum poster, your link will be a great source of traffic. (and targetted too!)

So what else to do, blog commenting and guest posting count as spamming activities, bookmarking and directory not effective as they were earlier, so in simple way link building is dead ??

No, you should rather focus on Organic Link Building.

Don't focus on sucking value.

Rather create "something" that automatically attracts links. Then you can just approach people saying that you have this "something" that they can talk about.

It's not really business-like. It's more like relationship-like.
