Why is my domain renewal so expensive?

Can you tell me why is my domain renewal so expensive, I bought a domain at price $26/year but now it marked as premium domain by my domain registrar and its price is about $300/ year for renewal. What reasons for this?

i always check renewal prices at tld-list.com, most of the times exotic extensions with cheap reg prices have huge renewal prices

I bet your domain has been expired and you did not renew it in time.

No I didn't let it expire and I checked it before expiration 5 months but because it marked as premium domain so I suppose that its renewal price increased 100 times.

Take care with new tld domain because you can easily choose a premium domain there with cheap price for the first time but after years, they can increase renewal price and you might not go with that.

You probably bought a gTLD at a reduced offer at registration. At the time as you were buying it you would have seen the renewal price but you were hooked on the special. Depending on the name it may well very be worth renewing. Did you keep it I dropped a few that were second rate gTLDs but kept my premiums.

It's because when you buy it at the 1st time, you buy with coupons or deals, then the price may reduce 90% off. After the 1st year, you need to pay with the regular price. So it's more expensive than the price you bought at the 1st time.

I thought renewal prices are negotiated at the time of purchasing the domain. Hmm.. maybe your domain expired at some point for you. $300 is sure a big increase from $26. Well, at least your domain "gained" value.

It really seems that your domain has expired already... the renewal prices can't be so high, never happened to me
