In recent years is the way Google is going to work has changed enormously. The infamous black hat techniques are now being punished by Google and developments will continue unabated in the new year. Some commonly used techniques will be less useful. A list of five notable developments in the field of search engine optimization in 2013.

1. More depth in link building

Google looks increasingly stringent to the structure of Web sites and the links to the website. A simple link building campaign works because Google realizes that this is often not a sincere way of linking. Google is increasingly placed a focus on wider link building with an emphasis on sharing interesting content, such as pieces of text on social media and attractive link bait campaigns. Instead of link building is also called 'link earning." In other words, earn links to share interesting content!

2. End of the guest blogging as SEO strategy

Guest Blogging is not a good SEO strategy in 2013. As part of a comprehensive online marketing strategy is guest blogging very useful. Guest Blogging as a strategy in itself takes a lot of time and has relatively little result.

3. Facebook & Twitter continue to grow

Google Plus and the so-called Agent Rank (Author Position) play an important role. With a Google+ profile, Google recognizes social activities of a writer and takes it in the results. Yet so invest in a Google Plus account!

5. Less focus on keywords

Keyword ranking is becoming less important. Page write purely on certain keywords will work in the short term, but in the long run Google will see that the page has little added value. A good content strategy is important pages with good content and readability are the starting point. It takes more time and energy, but the result will be there.

The center of gravity of SEO is increasingly in the long term. SEO is part of a larger online marketing strategy. Moreover, Google also always changing, so it is important to go along. If a company totally depends on the SEO, then they can't survive in the industry. So, it is better for them to use some other internet marketing techniques to promote their keywords.

Link Building is still effective, if done in an appropriate manner, if you only concentrate on Keywords as your anchor text, then you could be the suspect of search engine penalty & your Website can lose valuable visitors.

You can make use of Brand Name as your anchor text, use long tailed Keywords with your Brand Name, Synonyms of your Keywords in the href tag while building links.

Content can make a difference, build contents on Websites, use internal links for important terms. Use Social Media Integration tools for your Website.
