Don't use too much pictures on your site because it makes the website load time slow. Also try to clean up your CSS. I hope my advice will help you.

As per my opinion I would suggest you Don't use too much images on your website because it creates the web page full time slowly. Also try to fresh up your CSS with latest updates.

You should first check the reasons for increased load time. One of the common reasons is too much usage of images. You should avoid usage of flash. Don over use ajax.

Maybe too much java script. From what I remember, it's in the header should be only the names of functions, and all the scripts at the end of the page, it was later affected the efficiency of loading the page.

Ask your host customer support team why is the host take to much time to load.

If they say the error is from your end then check the website on google speed test and resolve issues suggested by google speed test.

If your website loading time is very slow then it negative for the SEO purpose because according to the google's guideline our website loading time should not less then 60ms. For increasing your website load time you can avoid heavy images like HD images, remove unused code from your site.use small size images. Use predefined functions avoid user defined functions.

Here few facts about website Load time:

You are using an shared web server?
- Then dont be suprised about bad Load time, it's mostly recommended to use your own server,
at least try VPS or Dedicated.
Watch this:
webtropia.jpg
Click [URLnf="http://www.webtropia.com/en/hp-moonshot-rootserver.html"]here[/URLnf] to get full info.
There are some VPS servers with monthly costs which are not that hard expensive, and you will get full controll, and if you want to buy VPS or Dedicated server, watch for SSD hard disks.

Configuration of the web server?
- Try to setup nginx, setup gzip compression, and look around for another caching methods.
after you're done with configuration look on this:
I recommend to you, to get MAXCDN or Cloudflare, for better performance.

And at least, try to optimize the whole code on your web site: css, html, js.

we can only tell you general precaution, but to know the real issue with your website, you need to visit gtmatrix or any website for evaluating the reason of slow loading for your website. You will get a report about why it is slow and then you fix that exact issue.

I would recommend checking out a cache plugin, like wp super cache, 10s is a rather long time.
