Hi
I prefer Skype than Google, yahoo and other things Because Google Talk is available for Microsoft Windows, Android Apps, Linux, Memo, Web OS, Google chrome OS and Blackberry. whereas Yahoo Messenger is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Android Apps, Symbian, Mac OS X, Unix, IOS, Linux and Free BSD.
It’s big enough to claim verb status, but is Skype still primarily used for cheap international VoIP and video calls with family abroad? Microsoft is certainly looking to push it into our living room, with support on the new Xbox One and a growing presence on smart TVs. A lot of people use it on mobile as well, and it supports instant messaging and group chats with hundreds of contacts simultaneously. So i like Skype and feel comfortable by using Skype.
Thanks

I think that depends on which tool the person you're talking to is using, and on how you're using these tools. Some of my friends are using YM, so I also do YM. Some use Skype and others Gtalk. So I have to have an account on each tool. In this way, I can easily contact and/or chat with my friends whatever tool they're using.
But for me personally, I'd prefer to use Skype.

Nice topic!...

I used to use Google talk for chatting last time but when I moved to Skype, I found it has too many advantages for a chat software better than others. I don't know here you are using which software for chatting but I vote for Skype, Google Talk.

What about Yahoo? anyone still use it for chatting with friends or your colleges?

I prefer Skype than the others. Skype has the benefit of being the most well-known of the three alternatives. With a strong emphasis to reducing the barriers to entry for users, it is an excellent choice for connecting to participants with questionable computers, connections, or technical knowledge. Additionally, Skype is available for almost any device that allows an internet connection, with cross-platform functionality in place. In terms of costs, two-way skype video calls are free, although a subscription is needed by at least one of the members if more participants want to participate. However, Skype often suffers from quality issues, especially if some of the participants are using a cellular connection.
