I’m trying to understand how people connect with the right partners for collaboration.

Do you prefer using forums, social platforms, or direct outreach? Which method has worked best for you?

Would appreciate any tips or experiences. Thanks!

I actually like direct outreach. This has proven to be the most effective way. But it wouldn't hurt to try all of them and see which one works best for you.

Every company, business, organization have their own ways to communicate. Some of them will prefer through email or phone. You need to know your target and see what he really uses. Usually linkedin is perfect for business and partnership.

For me, it’s a mix of forums and direct outreach. Specialized forums are great for building initial trust because you can see someone's expertise before reaching out. Once I spot the right fit, a personalized direct message usually yields the best response.

Forums show you whether someone knows the work, which is the easy half. What they do not show is whether the person still answers email in week three of a project, and that is what actually sinks partnerships.

The only filter I have found for that is starting small and paid, one narrow piece of work before anything longer. People who are going to disappear tend to do it early, and it costs very little to find out.
