See you Orkut! Google will miss you :)
Google announced today that it is shutting down its first social network, Orkut, on September 30.
Orkut, launched in 2004 and named after Google engineer Orkut Büyükkökten, who created it, was very popular in Brazil, where for years it was the leading social network. Facebook finally surpassed it the country in January 2012.

People had been used Orkut more and more at that time. In-fact today we'll surely open Facebook once a day to check notification the same situation was with orkut to read scrap. But It seems that Google's this product is not defeat Facebook not give him a tough challenge.

At the time when Orkut is launched this is the best social networking website. this website is also used by me more then 2-3 hours in a day on those years. Now, all the users are settled with Facebook and another G+ etc websites. We really miss the Orkut.

they should have done this long back, though they are closing it officially now but I think it was closed long back by the users as everyone has rejected it. I do not remember when was the last time I tried to login there.

I haven't heard of this social network before. I suppose all good things must come to an end, but I hope the decision was up to the owner, himself, and not the big corporation... Don't mind me, I just really have a general dislike for Google or anything that have too much power...lol
