Why did I get duplicate title tags in Google WMT?

Hello,

I don't know why in Google webmaster tool/ HTML Improvements/ reported that my domain have 2 Pages with duplicate title tags
this page: / (for main domain) and /index.php (for default domain name page)
why?
I thought that it's 1 page from my domain name, why Google considered it as 2 different urls?

Use 301 Redirect or remove at /index.php to domain main page.

xyz.com and xyz.com/index.php are two different urls for Google and due to this it is showing duplicate title tag error.

Google uses robots which don't have human intelligence. These are coded program and due to this little change in url is considered two different url.

It will be better to use two different title tag for xyz.com and xyz.com/index.php

Main domain and index.php are same page, but Google consider two different pages so only you got duplicate tags in WMT. You can solve this issues use by 301 redirect codes in .htaccess file.
