Standard Sitemap XML file name format?

What is Standard Sitemap XML file name format??

when I clicked on sitemap in Google webmaster tool for submitting my sitemap, I can submit sitemap url like: my-site.com/my-name.xml
or I must rename it to sitemap.xml (because some SEO tool see this name as default)
or I must named like this forum having https://www.webmastersun.com/sitemap.xml
Unluckily, my sitemap tool on my site generated this sitemap file like sitemap_index.xml.gz . I can submit it to google
for example: my-site.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz , is it right?

What is your advice?

I think you can use custom file name for your site to submit in Google webmaster tool, it's no problem. But, better you will named as sitemap.xml because SEO checker tools see it as default name when they analyze your website and show statistics. I think Google tool is the same, it can accept custom name bust still understanding default name (sitmap.xml) as standard name
