Checking with any SEO tools and it told me "We found a blog on your website - Good". why blog is necessary for your website and Is is useful to increase rankings for main website?

In my opinion blogs can work as an lifeline or fueling for any business. Every website should have a blog which publishes interesting content based on their users intellect and needs. Develop good posts which can engage the users to read, share and comment on the posts..this thing add visitors to your main domain and helps to its promotion.

4. Blog helps to get better search engine rankings due to its regular, fresh and dynamic contents, which must be optimized.

I'm not sure if Google would consider it a good point for SEO, necessarily. What really matters is that you have content that users can see that you are active in your field / target group you are trying to speak to.

If you have a site about muscle cars, having a blog that you regularly update with content about events regarding muscle cars in your area would go a long way, more so than having just the sub domain called blog.

In the end, content is king. Make and create good articles and the users will show up. Don't get too concerned with what Google is looking for. Create good, quality content about your subject matter, and the rest will take care of itself.

Mate what's your domain and what tool did you use? You said your website have sub folders under your domain. How many are they? Are you updating those sub folders with unique and fresh contents? Blog is important as it will keep telling Google that your mother domain is not dead or static. It's good to have a dynamic site than static as Googlebot and other search engine bots crawl more often in dynamic websites than static websites. That's one of the reason that blog is important. Another factor is you can use cross-linking or inter-linking tactics more often when you have a blog.

The name "Blog" in the URL is more of importance for your site visitors rather than Google. Visitors who are in search of latest information and news from a site which is static or a corporate site, search for blog on it. If somebody want to find out any blog on a site, they eventually type "/blog" in the addressbar after the homepage URL. Thats easy. It is just my opinion, which I came to know by analyzing some web stats.

I mentioned "Blog" in the above points just to mention the platform, not the URL specifically. You can choose anything of your like.
