reddit is a social website where one can get lots of traffic from it. here is step by step guide on how to get traffic from reddit:

1-search google website, google news, buzzsumo or any other tool for great story or article related to your niche.
the story must have lots of re-shares. and new.

2-re-write the story in your own way, change its title and content to more interesting.

3-make sure the content is readable. you may hire someone one fiverr to proofread it.

4-publish it on your own blog or website. and share it to your social media accounts.

5-go to reddit and go to relevant sub reddit. you can just search for keywprds related to your post so that you can find best sub reddit.

6-post the link to the story - which is from your own blog. and you may write little description.

This is it. if the story is interested, people will vote it up and you will get lots of traffic.

Yes you can submit any link to sub reddit. I do not know if affiliate link like click bank link is also accepted. I have not tried it before.

As far as I (along with a group of friends) have noticed reddit is super ban-happy, they'll ban your site if they don't like anything about it. I've submitted one viral blog at one point, without any spam or anything, just the ONE submit ever, having good karma, etc and it was banned 5 minutes after... I messaged the MOD who did the banning, he kept saying "SPAM", I was like "hey guy, do you even know what spam is?"... anyway I tend to avoid reddit at all cost.

You don't need any karma to post a link on Reddit. But your link was probably seen as self-promotion. These are swiftly deleted for subreddits that are heavily moderated.

But yeah, I used to write "bait posts" of almost unbelievable stories. I had a drone site once and made up a story about a dog that was "drone-napped", picked up by a drone with a net in the park and then lifted up and carried off and never found again.

I think that post went on to get about 100k reddit visitors in its first week. It basically went viral and ended up getting submitted to loads of other subreddits.

That was for a drone site but you can do the same thing for any sort of news type site. Just don't do it all the time.

I've been wanting to buy a drone, but have not had the time. I need to make time so I can use that phrase. Seriously, I love it!

I saw a video the other day where some guys attached a chainsaw to a drone and flew around cutting stuff. I'm missing out on more fun that I thought after seeing that.

The Reddit crowd as a tough bunch, they can smell spam a mile away, i have done quite a lot of testing with Reddit.

1. you need to upvote some content and also comment on content, you need to take your time with Reddit but the rewards can be huge, visit sub reddits and start getting active, Build your Karma up!, next post some OTHER PEOPLES content, and carry on building up your Karma, after a while start mixing your own Content in with your posts... if it's good you will then see a massive amount of traffic, take your time with Reddit, if one well it can be a goldmine

Yeah some posts on RD could need to be approved by Mods before publishing to online if you included links to them.
