I hear their free tier is for 12 months and you can easily implement a server image and host a Wordpress Site for FREE.
Has anyone implemented this?
And if you have passed your free 12 month period, what are your monthly fees averaging?
(If you can share the size of your site and url - would be a plus, thanks!):)

I've never used EC2 - but have used other related products such as S3 video hosting and AWS services for email.. On the whole they are cheap and reliable so I am sure the same would apply to EC2...

That said I've noticed AWS is going down hill with issues relating to Microsoft e.g. emails sent to Hotmail are a pain to deal with and as such I'm looking for an alternative solution... I think part of the problem is the massive number of users of which some are spammers whom cause IP blacklisting.... So this may also be an issue with EC2...

Interested to hear of other opinions...

Hey,

I do believe that they restrict outgoing mail ports on their free tier which is a given with any free solution. Amazon is a pretty expensive service when it comes to resources allocation such as bandwidth, and are capable of charging such high pricing mainly because of their name and the marketing structure of "Cloud".

In all reality a solution such as theirs wouldn't be one you as a business owner should really be required to utilize unless you are receiving the traffic necessary for the need of a scalable solution. A traditional Permium Website Hosting package or even a VPS could suite your needs and fulfill your requirements at a fraction of the cost.
