Have you ever had a bad experience with a content writer?

Have you ever had a bad experience when you hired a writer to write content for your blogs or websites? For instance, the content they created for you turned out to be plagiarized? I've hired some writers before and for some writers, I had to require them to fix and edit paragraphs because it looked like they didn't know which they were writing.

What about you? I'd like to know what to look out for. You don't have to name the particular person or organization.

I've had all kinds of issues with outsourced writing.

* Quality of content sucked
* Person did not follow my instructions
* Could not communicate well with the person (person didn't understand what I wanted them to do)
* Person fell of the face of the earth part way through an assignment (just disappeared and quit responding to emails)
* English grammar sucked
* Topic choices were thin and lame (Forced to assign specific article titles for them to write)
* Took way longer than was originally agreed upon
* Overpriced for lame content
* Content didn't really target the audience I wanted it to

And that's just some of the issues.
