Grid Web Hosting or Dedicated Server for Linux or Windows?

Hey everyone,
I have just known about this hosting term "Grid Web Hosting", what is it?
I am wondering to which hosting platform is better, dedicated server or grid web hosting?
As I am reading about them, dedicated hosting you will not be sharing resources such as memory, processor & the hard drive with other users on the same server while Grid provides a dedicated/fixed amount of memory and CPU to each and every client account running in an isolated container so that other clients can not affect each other or overload whole server available to them. It that correct? what is your advice?

It depends what your needs are.
In my experience I find traditional dedicated servers have more uptime than cloud and grid hosting.

My suggestion would be go for a dedicated server for Linux. CloudLinux allows isolation on each account on the server so no 1 user can overload it.

Dedicated servers of course are most stable. However, the CloudLinux grid hosting is a great concept compared to the old-fashioned shared hosting.

Most hosting now already use Cloudlinux in order to prevent one account from eating up huge portion of the server, in other words to sell and fit more accounts in one server.

"Grid Hosting" is simply web hosting, using the principles of "Grid Computing" (i.e. distributed computing, cloud computing).

It simply means that there are multiple physical servers linked together, in order to provide additional compute power. If one server runs out of CPU/RAM/IO, it can use the resources on another physical server in the grid.

Many also think that if something is cloud based, it is also redundant and will not have downtime. This is not always the case. A host may have a cloud system, with multiple hypervisor servers, but if the single control panel or storage server goes offline, the entire cloud is offline. I have also seen people provide cloud hosting, using a single multi-node server. Multiple servers, in the same server chassis. If the backplane fails, the cloud is offline!

Anyway, Cloud/Grid/distributed hosting is simply share hosting, that has higher resource capabilities, but that doesn't necessarily mean YOU will have more resources then with a standard shared hosting account.

As far as dedicated resources and isolation, CloudLinux is pretty popular, as it does keep accounts better isonalted, but it is not full proof.

Which is better?
It depends on your situation and what your needs are. Both have their advantages.

CloudLinux is becoming one of the most popular operating systems. Most hosting companies on our network are now using it on their infrastructure. I think it is a great idea, and should help cut down on some of the "overselling" of shared hosting plans.

Well Grid Web Hosting would be better because it will gives you more Redundancy, Load Balancing and Multiple Level of Security.
It is more Faster, Secure and Reliable.
