How to remove duplicate emails from a list?

Hey Guys,

I have an email list 8K+ subscribers but as checked I found more duplicated emails. Are there any way(s) or tools to remove duplicate emails from my list?

for examples, I have duplicate emails as following

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

as emails above, I would keep just one email after removed duplicates and the result should be

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

I know there are many products that you could use already
on the market, however, as a software developer, I have to
admit that your question really intrigued me, so I figured I'd
attempt to whip up a small app which will take a text file
and perform the following:

1. Select the (text) file which has your list of email addresses
2. Asks if you would like to create a backup (defaults to "YES")
3. Checks the file for duplicate entries and removes them...

If this is something that interests you, please PM me with
your email address and I will send you a copy. It performed
very well with a few sample files I created but I do ask that
you simply send me some feedback (good OR BAD) as I may
end up offering this on one of my software sites...

I don't foresee there being any problems, but, as I said, I just
created the app and I only tested it with a tiny list of 30 - 50
entries and since you have 8K+, you would be the FIRST "real
world" tester.
