You need to spend money to make money?

Do you believe in that? You need to spend money into promotions or advertising to attract visitors from websites to your website, and that will convert into potential customers and lead to real sales. But some cases you may not need money but almost times you will need to spend money to make money, even more than which you invested. What do you guys think?

It's a general rule. I'm one of the believers in this rule. However, you can make money in exchange of time. That way, you won't invest real money, but you'll invest your time.

I think you'll make more money much faster if you invest money. Like you said, creating an offer and promoting it will make you money.

You can do it for free, and you can pay for it. It's a matter of time.

It sure helps. I would rather spend a few hundred dollars and make a profit from day one then to invest months of my time to find out what I was working on did not work and make any real money.

I think more than "you have to spend money to make money", the more appropriate maxim should be "penny wise, pound foolish".

Spend in the right things. Cutting corners early on might mean a lot of wasted (or lost) money.

I only spend money on hosting and crypto. Everything else i do myself.
I hate to spend money as if whatever i spend it on does not work, it burns me forever...

The way i started making real money online was with freelancing and i only needed a couple of hours to become profitable. Granted there was a touch less competition back then, but still i would not spend money to get customers/sales. Well, unless i'd need 100's of sales per day.
For me "spend money to make money" is all about scale - i.e. when you can no longer scale for free at a decent rate, you start investing.

You don't need always spend money. There are always a ways to earn money for free..

for example. BTC mining, Growing Social media..

But if you are trying to sell a lot of little things..then money will help get more quicker.

My advice to starters is the following:
Start small and local and you won't need money to make money.
When you make money, then spend it on reaching super-targeted traffic to your offer.

Do this over and over until you can coast.

You don't need to spend money. You can create free forum posts, blog posts, traffic trades and email people. You can advertise for free with offline advertising. Some advertising can be created for free.

Yes, you need money to make money.

Frankly, nothing is free even if it seems to be free at first.

The blog that you are thinking of starting soon... that's not free. You need to pay for the domain name and hosting fees, premium WordPress plugins or something else.

Even when you are sharing content on YouTube, Instagram or Pinterest, do know that you still have to spend your "time" to make it worthwhile. And as we all know, TIME IS MONEY.

When you are not paying with your wallet, you are paying with your money.

It depends on what you decide to do.
There are people who make 6-figures and more through their FREE youtube channels.

Like schttrj said, time is money.

It can take a long time to build up a youtube channel, or a free blog to the point where it makes money for you.

And if you want to get started with internet marketing and do it seriously, you should consider getting your own domain name and good web hosting.

You can do so for under $100 per year so It isn't that expensive.

You don't need much money to make money online if you do the work yourself.
