To reach more people and target specific audiences. Posting on Linkedin is different from posting on Instagram, but even if you post the exact same content on all social platforms - the result is - it will reach more people.

@hipcat is right about Google, but I don't think impressing Google should be your primary concern if you want real lasting results.

It is important, as google works in that way. Google likes diversity and it helps your content to grow more. And one thing you must follow is that you never copy your website content. Otherwise, google makes your content duplicate content.
