1.Start a digital business. Etsy is one of the best application to start online business. You can sell digital templates, invitation cards, quote for photo frame, instagram story templates and many more. It's easy, just require time and no investment.

2. Freelancing is also good option. No investment is required. Many types of freelancing jobs are available like data editor, content writ, graphic designing etc. You can use Freelancer, fiverr , Upwork etc.

3. Tutoring - For this you need a college degree. you have to conduct online sessions to teach. you can choose any subject according to your preference. Learn to be, Skipping, Chegg study etc.

4.Youtube -It's easiest and convenient one. you just have to create YouTube channel and post your vlogs .

Nothing is really “free.” You either invest money or invest time.
If you don’t have money to start, invest in learning a valuable skill first.

But from what I’ve learned, success depends more on how well you can sell than on what you sell.
A lot of average products make money because of good marketing and sales, while good products fail because nobody knows about them.

You can't pick apples if you didn't plant an apple tree in the first place...In my humble opinion, people should realize there are different type of investments :

1. Emergency services (plumber, windshield, locksmith) mainly bet on Google Ads. There's so much money in these niches that the PPC is explosive.
2. Affiliate marketing (several paid tools can be used) BUT you can also do it freely with some will and if your site makes a lot of trafic.
3. Freelancing and dropshipping like a user said before me.

What I want to make you understand here is that investment is NOT only money-wise. It can be time-wise. Your time is an also an investment. The greatest example is SEO. Many people, me included, used to say that SEO is a free strategy. I stopped saying that since a few years. Even if you don't spend a single dollar, the time you put in content creation or keywords filtering for example, IS NOT FREE and is an investment.

You can start with free methods. You can start with a free blog and start with affiliate programs. Its going to take work and a while to see results. Consistency is key

Affiliate marketing.. You can start out with free methods like a blog, Pick a niche and create content around it and sell affiliate products on your site. Relying on SEO will take some time so you need to be patient

Adding to this for anyone still looking at free options. If you don't want to spend hours doing 5-cent surveys, passive bandwidth sharing is probably the easiest route.

I've been running MystNodes on my PC in the background while working. You won't get rich off it, but it pays a few extra bucks a month for literally zero effort or upfront cash.

I’d agree with the general point that there’s no truly “free” method - if you don’t invest money, you’re investing time. For someone starting from zero, I’d focus on one marketable skill or niche, build useful content/audience around it, and then monetize through freelancing or affiliate offers. It’s slower than the “easy money” promises online, but much more realistic.

Hey everyone,

I’ve seen tons of videos and blog posts about making money online, but most of them either feel too good to be true or require some upfront investment.

I’m curious is there actually any realistic way to earn online that doesn’t need money to start?

Maybe something like freelancing, small gigs, or platforms I should check out?
You can always start creating content on free sites like Medium and what have you. Create for a year, develop a following, get your name out there, and there create an offer.

Freelance writing, coaching, something like that.

$0 investment.

I would recommend investing in a domain, basic hosting, and launching your own blog, though. Start a mailing list (free at first) and build that owned audience that you might convert into paying customers at a later date.

You don't really have to invest money into it.

You MUST invest your time and commitment to create online enough where you get noticed because everyone starts out as a needle in a haystack.
